Some nights I go out and some nights I record the things I see and some nights I feel joy for it all and some nights I feel a sourceless grief for it all and I wanted to share that.

The Citizen Kane of Video Games

“Why have you chosen to tell this story on stage?”. It’s an ingenious question in my humble opinion. Not only does it question the applicant’s understanding of the medium but also their story’s place in art. I, a strong believer in the power of medium specificity, directed the conversation to video games; he, a strong believer in the power of medium development and history, questioned the widespread legitimacy of video games as a “medium” and what would specificity to this medium would even entail. Thus begins our search for the so-called “Citizen Kane of Video Games”.
A year spent in London, categorized into four seasons, filled with beautiful people, love, and laughter. I cannot express in words how dreamy this year felt, so I tried to show it in videos. Enjoy.
This is an immersive sound experience I made with a few amazing friends. Spoiler Alert: Tories are not good people.
I have been recording people randomly for a few years now and these moments aged like fine wine, unlike the quality of my camera.

So we have been playing this Hogwarts themed D&D campaign for two years and I wanted to make an intro for it. As you can clearly see it's great fun to be around these people. Even though I torture their characters physically and mentally each and every session, we have fun moments...
A Circle or a Line
Blog 07.03.2022
I am doing it again. I’m going around town, trying to get used to my new surroundings like a tiny tortoise in a new terrarium. I’m running around trees at night when people can’t see me trying to keep up with the rhythm of the song blasting in my ears with my feet and keep up with the emotions of the words piercing my mind with my heart. I’m walking everywhere I can, sacrificing my feet one step at a time to ease the rest of me. I’m taking off my shoes as I walk because I just can not handle them wrapped around me, sucking the life out of me.

I keep the bedroom door closed when I sleep. I think it’s about the feeling of security. A door ajar lets in too many darkness and possibilities for me to put my mind at ease. But also, doors are important. They keep out. Perhaps they also keep in, as dear Virginia puts it ever so gently “I thought how unpleasant it is to be locked out; and I thought how it is worse, perhaps, to be locked in.”
Not The Killing Type

Actions make a person. We all know that. But what redeems those actions, what makes them right? God? I used to have one of those, didn’t stick. Turns out the irrefutable, eternal answer behind all things is kind of ignorant. What else? Our reasoning? Self-gain? Self-preservation perhaps? Much like we would a home-invader, we only kill our darlings to save ourselves. Even if we’re not the type.
Commitment
My two girls were leaving and I wanted to remember them like this. Always and forever. Entirely committed.
I didn't think I would do another play at Gsütt but life happens and out of nowhere you find yourself editing a week full of videos, trying to pick a Jovi song to go with them. It was fun though. The video and the play. Turns out Ionesco isn't half bad.
The Unsurprisingly Long List of Things I'm Bad At

1- Writing These Weeklies. I know I should have a certain structure and a model to shape these weeklies with. Each should feel familiar with their own tiny gimmicks. They are not even weeklies really, most take more or less than a week. Like this one for instance. I know I should have started this one with an introduction and a tease for the ending but I didn’t. So. There you have it. The list has begun.

I came back from France with a buttload of recordings and a Britney song on repeat in my head. Honestly, this was no oops. This was pure joy.

I feel there are times we are not allowed to see the whole picture. Even if it’s the picture of our own lives. We just can’t know. Where things we do and words we utter will lead us in the end. In times like these I can’t help but feel stuck. Funny isn’t it? We talk so lively of our destinies and things to come yet crave so deeply for total control. No matter how hard I wish for it though, revelations are hard to come by lately. For any of us.

They say that patience is a virtue. They say compassion is a virtue. I think even being virtuous is a virtue. Religious systems are full of feedback loops I guess. But they are still effective, even to people who have nothing to do with them. We tend to go long ways to prove that we are not ruled by ideologies we think so little of. Though, doesn’t it seem like all that we do is to abide by them?

The Boat That Breached
Blog 12.08.2018
There is a tale by Joseph Conrad. About a man who killed a ship full of people because he had fallen prey to his doubts. In the midst of war and fog, his ship comes across another. After talking with the captain across and inspecting everything, he tries to deduct an answer. Is this an enemy ship or not? He faces many minor red flags but nothing concrete. That is the important part. He can’t find no undeniable proofs. So he makes a decision and misguides them right into rocks. He never finds out the real answer. He only a sees a boat that breached.

The Iron Flop
Was It as Bad as This Title?
Article 2017
Fourth one of the very popular “Marvel TV Netflix Superhero Series” came out recently and instead of finding a better method to categorize these things, people have decided to burn it to the ground with criticism. But let us put the angry mob aside for a moment and see the Frankenstein’s monster for ourselves, mayhap we shall come up with a different verdict.
A Gsütt production in a week? Easy. Recording the rehearsals? Not a sweat. Editing it all? Piece of cake. Picking the best Jovi song? Born to do it. Painting mustaches on Cem and keeping a straight face? God Level.

Women and Driving
Article 2016
First of all, no I didn’t write this because some woman troubled me in traffic the other day. I just happened to have ran into a “new” crowd and asked them the differences between men and women. They were a quite… “robust” crowd to say the least but one thing they didn’t ever let go of was the “fact” that women were worse drivers then men. And after listening to their “reasons” for a while and running out of quoting marks, I decided to do a little research on it. Care to tag along?
It was a year full of arguments, jokes, backstabbing, hard-work, criticism, flattery, friendship, drama, confidence and sleepless tours. Basically it was another year at the good(?) old TT.

The Winner Dive
Article 2016
Well, that time of the two years has come and gone and it left us some souvenirs. From superhuman swimmers like Phelps to literal college brats like Lochte it has been an eventful ride. But I believe one of these stories talks a lot more about about what it means to be an Olympic athlete than the others. And that’s the story of Shaunae Miller.

This is the first video I've ever made. It was a November filled with me shoving my camera into people's faces. Looking back at it now I can see that the editing is crude, the footage is shaky. But the joy is still intact.
